NF Railway worker shot dead

Haflong, Mar 30 (UNI) A person was killed and another injured when suspected ultras opened fire at a NF Railway camp in Retzol, 16 km from here, last night.

The deceased Basu Patro of Guwahati-based M K Engineering and injured Gopinath Mandol were engaged as labourers in broadgauge rail track construction in Lumding-Silchar sector of N F Railway.

Though the reason of the attack was not confirmed, non-fulfilment of demands by the militants was suspected to be the motive.

Earlier, on February 10 militants had attacked the same camp, but no casualty was reported in that incident.
