Karunanidhi urged to negotiate with Sonia for polls
Pondicherry, Mar 30: Dalit members of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam(DMK) in the Union Territory have expressed their displeasure over the delay in finalising party's decision over an alliance with the congress in the assembly elections.
In a letter to the DMK President M Karunanidhi, Dalit leaders S K C Gajendran and M S Kaliyaperumal said, while the rival AIADMK-PMC alliance had finalised their constituencies and candidates, and concentrating on their campaign, the delay on the part of DMK in finalising the modalities were creating confusion among the Dalits here.
They also said the DMK is in a position to win at least 25 seats, including the five reserved constituencies here, if they contest alone and urged Mr Karunanidhi to sort out the issue with Congress President Sonia Gandhi at the earliest.
