Jora urges private enterprises to accelerate economic growth in J

Jammu, Mar 30 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Power and Industry and Commerce Nawang Rigzin Jora has urged eminent industrialists and entrepreneurs to accelerate the economic growth of the valley.

Mr Jora, while interacting with industrialists in a seminar organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here last evening, said the atmosphere of the valley is changing speedily and the state government has decided to provide all facilities to industrialists.

He reiterated that infrastructure like road connectivity and regular power supply are crucial for economic growth and development and the coalition government has made serious efforts in this regard.

Many projects have been started to change the economic face of Jammu and Kashmir, he said.

''The infrastructure facilities are being developed through out the state which would help in attracting more investments thereby providing employment and thus empowering people and contributing to the growth and prosperity,'' he said.

Enhancing the employability of youth in industry the Minister said, the employment generation is an extremely laudable objective and J&K is looking forward.

Focussing at the sectoral development of food processing, horticulture, tourism and handicraft the Minister informed, Food Processing Parks (FPPs) have been set up through out the state which give a huge thrust to the agriculture sector.

He further said need-based training has been started in the ITIs.

CII Northern Region chairman Ajay S Sriram also spoke about the priorities for development of the state. Sanjay Puri, Chairman CII JK State Council made a presentation on the activities carried out by CII JK state in current year.
