Jackie Shroff makes first ticket sale for ODI

Kochi, Mar 29 (UNI) Formally launching the sale of tickets for the One Day International between India and England here on April six, Bollywood star Jackie Shroff made the first sale to the Managing Director of Kalyan Silks Pattabhiraman today.

Earlier, fast bowler Laxmipati Balaji released the first ticket for the match to senior Federal Bank officials. The ODI tickets will be available at select branches of the bank in all the 14 districts of the state.

Former BCCI secretary S K Nair and general convenor of the organising committee T S Mathew were present on the occasion.

Earlier, talking to reporters Balaji said he was fast recovering from a back injury and would be ready soon for competitive cricket.

Stating that it was a matter of great pride and honour to play for one's country, Balaji hoped that he would get a chance to come back into the Indian team.

However, he admitted that it was not easy to get back into Team India and added that only performance would count.
