Ivory seized, three persons nabbed

Mangalore, Mar 30 (UNI) The Mangalore South police today arrested three persons on the charge of selling ivory and seized ivory worth Rs 2.5 lakh.

Police said that based on a tip-off, they arrested two persons hailing from Chikmagalur when they were looking out for prospective buyers. On interrogation, the duo revealed that they had hidden some more pieces at a house in Kalkere in Chikmagalur district.

A police team went to Kalkere, seized the ivory and arrested one more person in this connection.

The arrested were later remanded to judicial custody.
