Indiramma scheme to be launched on April 1

Hyderabad, Mar 30 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy will launch the Integrated Development in Rural Areas and Model Municipal Areas (INDIRAMMA), a people-oriented scheme at Khandrika village in East Godavari district on April 1.

The scheme which is in tune with the State Government's promise to usher in ''Indiramma Raj'' in the state aims to transform the rural and urban areas, the Chief Minister observed, in an open letter to the people on the occasion of the Telugu New Year.

Dr Reddy, who had a detailed review with officials of the Chief Minister's office today, will address a video conference in this regard with the entire state Government official machinery tomorrow to ensure that all arrangements are in place for the launch of the scheme, aimed at providing the basic infrastructure facilities in rural and urban areas.

''This scheme is above politics. But for the programme to be successful, people, who are at the core of designing this scheme, need to involve themselves actively at every stage of its implementation.

He said his government machinery will consider suggestions given by them and keep fine tuning the scheme wherever required. ''Only then, my dream of seeing a transformed Andhra Pradesh by Ugadi 2009 will be fulfilled,''the Chief Minister also observed.
