Four killed in fire, one injured

Shivpuri (MP), Mar 30 (UNI) Four people were burnt to death and a woman was injured when a drum, containing inflammable substance, exploded in a house in New Colony area at Karaira divisional headquarters in this district today, police said.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Roop Singh Meena said the explosion occurred at 1000 hrs.

Three members of the family -- Santosh Sharma (30), Jeetu (11) and Annu (12) -- were killed on the spot along with another person.

A woman member of the same family sustained serious burn injuries.

Additional District Magistrate Shashi Karnavat, who reached the spot along with the SP, announced Rs 5,000 ex-gratia each to the family members of deceased.
