Food inspectors sentenced for three years for bungling
Kaithal, Mar 30 (UNI) A local court today sentenced an inspector and a sub-inspector of the Haryana Food and Civil Supply department to three years imprisonment and fined them Rs 20,000 each for bungling in the paddy scam which took place in 2002.
The Additional Sessions court said if the accused, Jai Singh Dahiya and Suresh Kumar, failed to pay the fine they will have to undergo further imprisonment of one year.
However, the court has acquitted three commission agents who were given benefit of doubt due lack of concrete evidence against them.
