Ex-HPSC chairman granted bail in corruption, cheating case

Rohtak, Mar 30 (UNI) Additional Sessions Judge H P Singh today granted bail to former Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) chairman K C Bangar in a corruption and cheating case.

On expiry of a day's police remand, the accused was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Mewa Singh, who declined the Vigilance Bureau's plea for extention of police remand and directed that the accused be produced in the court of the Additional Sessions Judge.

After hearing the arguments of the prosecution and the defence lawyers, the ASJ granted bail to Bangar, who was released on bail on furnishing personal bond of Rs 50,000 and surety of like amount.

Bangar also surrendered his passport on the instructions of the court.
