Electronic goods smugglers held

Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 30: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) sleuths today arrested three people, involved in smuggling of electronic goods and seized goods worth Rs 1.25 crore from their possession at the international airport here.

According to DRI sources, the three accused identified as Hussain, Satheesh and Sharafuddeen, hail from Tamil Nadu and landed here by a Sri Lankan flight from Colombo yesterday.

The seized goods include IPODS, Memory chips, Cameras, Video camera, Audio players and camera lenses, they added.

The DRI officials acted on information about the gang, who used the airport as a hub to smuggle electronic goods worth Rs one crore from Singapore to Chennai every week.
