Cabinet nod for expenditure for quake-hit J

New Delhi, Mar 30 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today approved an overall expenditure of Rs 242.95 crores for procurement of relief items and materials for construction of shelters in the earthquake-affected areas in Jammu and Kashmir.

The expenditure would be incurred by various Ministries, Departments and organisations,Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister P R Dasmunsi told a press conference here.

The Cabinet, Mr Dasmunsi said, also approved expenditure by the Central Para Military Forces for providing relief items.

The provision of relief items include procurement of blankets and woolen garments and supply of school uniforms, sports goods, indoor games, mattresses and supply of drinking water bottles.

The provision of shelter material covers procurement of tents, imported tents, procurement of supply of CGI sheets, construction cost of temporary shelters, procurement of materials for construction of community halls, dismantling, loading, unloading and insurance charges for the transportation of pre-fab structures.
