BPL Mobile rebranded to Hutch in Kerala

Kochi, Mar 30 (UNI) Hutchison Essar today announced that the BPL Mobile brand has been rebranded as Hutch in Kerala.

''From tomorrow, BPL Mobile will be Hutch in Kerala. As part of our ongoing integration process, the recently acquired Kerala circle of BPL Mobile Cellular is now being re-branded to Hutch. We will keep working towards expanding and enhancing the network and service levels in the circle,'' Mr Samuel Selvakumar, Operations Director, Hutch Essar South said here today.

Speaking at the formal launch of the 'Hutch' brand in Kerala, Mr Selvakumar said with the Kerala acquisition, Hutch will now have 14.5 million subscribers spread over 16 telecom circles.

Hutchison Essar, which entered the Indian telecom sector in 2000 with the Mumbai circle, is now available in Andhra Pradesh, Chennai, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Haryana, Kerala, Kolkata, Maharashtra and Goa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, East and West, and West Bengal.

These circles account for about 90 per cent of the national mobile subscriber base, he added.
