Bomb hoax at Bandra railway station causes panic
Mumbai, Mar 30 (UNI) A bomb hoax today at the Bandra railway station here caused panic and compelled railway authorities to divert a few local trains.
The Bandra police received an anonymous call around 1355 hrs with the caller claiming that a bomb had been planted on platform number one of the Bandra station.
Police swung into action immediately after receipt of the call and the railway authorities diverted incoming local trains to platform number two.
A bomb disposal squad was pressed into service which scanned the entire platform for almost 45 minutes. However, no explosives were found during the search and the call proved to be a hoax.
Normal train services have been restored, Western Railway sources said.
A similar bomb hoax had caused panic at the Dadar railway station here on March 28.
