BIS seizes water pouches, jars with fake ISI marks from Jalgaon

Mumbai, Mar 30 (UNI) Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) officials have seized a large quantity of water pouches and jars marked spuriously with Standard Mark and ISI logo from Jalgaon recently.

The seizure was made during a search operation at Aishwarya Industries, Jalgaon, on March 17, a release said here yesterday.

Action is being initiated against the offenders for violation of the BIS Act, 1986.

BIS has also appealed to the general public for giving information about any misuse of ISI mark.
