11 SP workers injured in accidental firing
Kanpur, Mar 30 (UNI) At least 11 Samajwadi Party workers were injured, two of them seriously, in firing by a party worker at Phoolbagh crossing here.
Police said SP activist Vikas Gupta was loading his licensed gun to welcome the arrival of Surendra Mohan Agrawal.
However, the gun accidently went off resulting in injuries of 11 people. Gupta was later arrested.
Jubiliant SP workers were moving in a processing near Phoolbagh crossing and firing in air to welcome Agarwal who was recently given a ministerial status by the Uttar Pradesh government.
Those injured included Mohd Iqbal, Mohd Naseem, Guddu, Sudhir Kumar, Krishna Jha, Mohd Asif, Mohd Nazim, Ibrahim, Sadiq-e-Alam, Mohd Ateeq and Aman.
