11 killed, five injured in road accident

Vijayawada, Mar 30 (UNI) Eleven people were killed and five sustained serious injuries when the vehilce in which they were travelling was hit by a lorry near Chilakalla village in Krishna district today.

Police said the mishap occurred when 16 people belonging to Khammam and Krishna districts were going to a temple at Tirumalgiri near Jangaiahpet mandal in connection with Ugadi.

Eight of the victims were killed on the spot and three died on the way to hospital.

The injured were admitted to a local hospital, police added.
