Undertrial escapes from court

Kanpur, Mar 29 (UNI) An undertrial today managed to escape from the CJM court here, after tossing chilly powder into the eyes of his police escort.

Kailash alias Ramu -- involed in several criminal cases including murder -- was brought to the court this afternoon.

However, he threw red chilly powder into the eyes of constable Shiv Kumar Singh and fled.

Another undertrial also tried to escape, but was overpowered by the advocates present in court.

The constable was later admitted to hospital. A search was on for the absconding criminal.
