Baramulla, Mar 29 (UNI) Two officials of the soil conservation department were today arrested when they were accepting a bribe in north Kashmir.

Official sources said that one Siraj-uddin had lodged a complaint with the Vigilance Organisation (VO) that District officer Dara Singh of Soil Conservation Department was demanding Rs 10,000 bribe for releasing his payment.

They said a trap was laid and Dara Singh and Junior Assistant Altaf Hussain were arrested red handed accepting the bribe money by the VO officials in presence of independent witnesses.

The bribe money was also recovered from their possession, sources said adding a case under Corruption Act has been registered against the officials.
