Trinamool leader Govinda Naskar assaulted
Canning, West Bengal, Mar 29 (UNI) Trinamool Congress candidate for Canning Assembly seat Govinda Naskar has been assaulted allegedly by CPI(M) workers in South 24 Parganas district.
Police said today that six CPI(M) supporters were arrested in this connection.
The incident took place at Brindakhali Jayatala area when Mr Naskar, a former state Minister and now Trinamool Congress district president, was canvassing for the coming Assembly election.
The Minister had filed an FIR and alleged that he along with his brother and security guard had sustained injuries.
