Soz and Antulay to campaign in Asom
New Delhi, Mar 29 (UNI) The Congress has deputed senior ministers Prof Saifuddin Soz and Mr A R Antulay to campaign in Asom to woo minority voters, whose leaders have formed the United Democratic Front (UDF) with other political parties to dislodge the Tarun Gogoi government in the state.
Water Resources Minister Prof Saifuddin Soz along with senior leader Digvijay Singh has already started campaigning in Muslim dominated assembly constituencies. During his three-day stay, he will extensively campaign for the party candidates, he told UNI Minority Affairs Minister A R Antulay will also campaign in the state. Prof Saifuddin Soz will again visit the state during the second round of elections.
The Congress was mobilising all its stalwarts for electioneering to counter the propoganda of the United Democratic Front, which has sought the help of Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Syed Ahmed Bukhari to lead the anti-Congress campaign. The Imam has been tellig the voters that the minorities have been worst victims of the five-years "misrule".
