Select cotton price rises on heavy demand
Mumbai, Mar 29 (UNI) Select cotton prices rose on heavy spinners' demand, traders at the East India Cotton Exchange here said today.
Cotton varieties like DCH-32 shot up again by Rs 500 per candy, while NHH-44 hiked by Rs 200 per candy as sellers were hoarding their stocks.
Following were the spot new cotton rates per candy in rupees: Bengal Desi: 12,600, Gujarat Wagad: Unq, V-797: 11,200, Karnataka Jayadhar: 13,000, Punjab J-34: 15,100, Y-1: 13,800, NHH-44: 14,400, LRA: 15,700, H-4: 16,500, S-6-A grade: 18,200, MCU-5: 22,000, DCH-32: 41,500, Bunny: 19,100, Brahma: 18,000 and 26-MM: 15,400.
The cotton exchange will remain closed tomorrow on accout of gudi padva.
