Saudi Arabia arrests 40 suspected militants

RIYADH, Mar 29 (Reuters) Saudi security forces have arrested 40 suspected militants and seized a cache of explosives and firearms, an interior ministry spokesman today said.

The arrests were made over the past few days in several areas of the country, including in the Eastern province where a major oil facility was attacked last month, he added.

The spokesman could not say whether the militants had been planning attacks or whether they were on a list of wanted militants.
