Bhubaneswar, Mar 29 (UNI) Demanding resignation of State Excise Minister Kalandi Behera for his alleged involvement in the Ganjam liquor tragedy, the Opposition in Orissa Assembly continued to stall the business of the House for the eighth day today.

The House had been witnessing an unprecedented situation since March 21 with the Opposition members staging demonstration inside the well right from the question hour disrupting the business of the House in support of their demand.

Like the previous days, as the House assembled for the day to take up the question hour, the Opposition trooped into the well and reiterated their demand for the resignation of the Excise Minister.

They shouted slogan against the Chief Minister and attempted to climb to the podium to prevent Deputy Speaker Prahallad Dora going ahead with the business of the House.

The House could run for ten minutes amid pandemonium when the Deputy Speaker finding no option to run the House smoothly adjourned it till 1200 hours.

As the House reassembled after the adjournment, Speaker Maheswar Mohanty urged the members to cooperate with the business but in vain. He then asked some members to raise special mention amid din in the House.

Sensing that the Opposition was in no mood to run the House till their demands were met, the Speaker adjourned the House for the day.
