Rs 2.25 cr to hail-hit ryots

Sagar, MP, Mar 29 (UNI) A compensation of Rs 2.25 crore has been provided so far, to farmers affected by recent hailstorms in Sagar division and a resurvey was ordered in Damoh district, official sources said.

The district-wise break-up of compensation is Sagar (3,674 peasants) -- Rs 80 lakh, Chhatarpur (4,178) -- Rs 50 lakh, Tikamgarh (4,860) -- Rs 82 lakh and Panna (324) -- Rs 7.5 lakh.

Divisional Commissioner R R Gangarekar recently inspected hail-affected areas in Damoh and ordered another survey of crop damage.
