MADRID, Mar 29 (Reuters) Real Madrid are desperate for revenge for a humiliating 3-0 defeat by Barcelona earlier this season when they play their arch-rivals on Saturday.

''This is the revenge match for us because that 3-0 defeat hurt us because of the way it damaged our image and our fans,'' goalkeeper Iker Casillas told a news conference today.

Barcelona forward Ronaldinho was given a standing ovation by a section of the Real Madrid fans after he scored two virtuoso solo goals in November's match at the Bernabeu.

''When we beat them there (in Barcelona) in the Champions League (in 2002) no one applauded us. If we play well and win that will be great and if we play badly and win that will be great too,'' said Casillas.

Barca lead Real by 11 points in the Primera Liga with eight games left.

The Spain international admitted that even if Real win at the Nou Camp, their hopes of depriving Barca of a second successive league title remained very slim.

''We are realistic,'' Casillas said. ''Our aim is to win at the Nou Camp to try and pull clear of the other teams that are fighting for second place.

''We have to win at all costs. If they win they will be taking a giant step towards the title.'' Reuters DH DB2156
