Rahul reaches Amethi on two-day tour

Lucknow, Mar 29 (UNI) A day after Congress president Sonia Gandhi visited her Rae Bareli constitutency, her son and Amethi MP Rahul Gandhi today reached his parliamentary constituency on a two-day tour.

The Amethi MP reached his constituency a day after his mother and AICC president Sonia Gandhi announced her decision to fight the bypoll from Rae Bareli. She had addressed a public meeting there to announce her decision to fight the elections from Rae Bareli once again.

Rahul reached Amethi by road from the state capital where he had reached earlier today by a service flight.

Earlier, Rahul was to accompany his mother yesterday but he rescheduled his programme.

En route, Rahul made a few stopovers to interact with locals who had gathered to welcome him.

The Amethi MP frequents his constituency every two to three months to oversee developmental projects.
