Proteas call in Steyn, Amla for third Test against Aussies

Johannesberg, Mar 29 (UNI) South Africa have added Hashim Amla and Dale Steyn to their squad for the third and final Test match against Australia starting here on Friday.

With the series already out of their grip after having lost the first two matches, the selectors have rewarded the two for their good domestic form.

''Both have had exposure to test cricket and have been in good form this season. They will bring fresh options in both the middle order and bowling departments for the third test. We will sit down and discuss possible scenarios in the next two days,'' selection convener Haroon Lorgat said in a UCBSA release after announcing the team.

Amla has played three tests, one against India in Kolkata in November 2004 and the first two tests against England last season, scoring 62 runs.

Steyn played three tests against England last season, taking 8 wickets.

The rest of the squad remains unchanged.
