PM greets people on festive occasion

New Delhi, Mar 29 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today greeted the nation on the festive occasions of Chaitra, Gudi Padava, Ugadi and Cheti Chand, saying these festivals heralding the New Year reflect the ''hopes and aspirations of our people''.

In a message, Dr Singh said, ''They (festivals) provide an opportunity for each of us to make a firm resolve to overcome temporary setbacks, consolidate the gains of the past and forge ahead in the nation's march towards progress.'' The Prime Minister said India's glorious and timeless traditions and its vibrant spirit found their full manifestation in these festivals.
