Coimbatore, Mar 29 (UNI) United States will soon have a new Shiva to be constructed temple at a cost of Rs 100 crore, with 108 idols, in the state of Georgia.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Muthukrishnan, who is involved in the temple construction at Norcross Bruke Hallow Parkway, Georgia, said yesterday that land for the project, a sprawling 9.5 acre, had already been acquired at a cost of five million dollars.

Saying the temple would be a major attraction, besides being a religious centre in Georgia, which was home to over 10,000 Indians, he said it was being funded entirely by Sri Selvam Siddar.

Mr Muthukrishnan said Sri Selvam Siddar took 'Diksha' from Sri Chinnappa Siddar and later took charge as the Peetathipathi of Sri Agasthiyar Sidda Peetam. He started an ashram in California and it had 1.6 million devotees now.

The temple would be built by a trust called 'The Hindu Temple of Georgia.' The idols were being made in India and shifted there.
