Manipur prepares for any eventuality

Imphal, Mar 29 (UNI) Manipur has formulated a plan to meet any eventuality in the event of bird flu.

Veterinary officials said so far no avian flu case had been detected in the state and samples sent to Bhopal for tests tested negative.

Health and forest officials said the state's porous international border with Myanmar and the large number of migratory birds which come to Manipur make it necessary for the state to remain alert.

Forest department officials have also visited the Loktak lake at Bishenpur district and Barak river at Tamenglong district to spread awareness about the flu.
