Local court acquits all five persons in '93 riot case
Mumbai, Mar 29 (UNI) A local court here today acquitted all the five persons, arrested in a case of rioting at Dadar here, during 1993, on benefit of doubt.
Those acquitted include Naim Khan, Rahimtulla Khan, Abdul R Sheikh, Zahir Khan and Shaukatlai Hussain.
According to the prosecution, a mob of over 400 people had indulged in stone pelting and throwing petrol bombs into Spring Mill Compound, Naigaon, in Dadar East on the evening of January 11, 1993.
The police team, that reached the spot brought the situation under control, and had arrested five persons.
However, prime witness Sashikant Parab and other witnesses could not identify the accused.
