Journalist of Marathi daily commits suicide

Nagpur, Mar 29 (UNI) A 26-year-old journalist of a Marathi daily allegedly committed suicide by jumping under a speeding train on Wardha road.

The police today said the mutilated body of Manojkumar Padmagirwar was found lying on the railway track near Chichbawan by some local people who informed the Sonegaon police station.

The body of Padmagirwar was sent to the Government Medical college hospital for post-mortem and ID was handed over to his relatives today.

The deceased was the resident of Manora village in Washim district and he had been working as a reporter covering the court beat for the Nagpur edition of a daily 'Deshonnati' for the last few years.

A letter written to one of his relatives was recovered by the police but they refused to disclose the contents.

According to his colleagues, Padmagirwar remained absent from duty since Monday.
