Jharkhand CM is on the run : Congress

New Delhi, Mar 29: The Congress today (Mar 29, 2006) claimed that the spontaneous outpouring of emotions by the people of Rae Bareli during Congress President Sonia Gandhi's tour of her constituency shows the unique position occupied by her in their minds.

Referring to Mrs Gandhi's resignation from the Lok Sabha membership and from the chairmanship of the National Advisory Council, Mr Singhvi said her insistence on moral values was in sharp contrast to the moral degenaration displayed by the NDA in Jharkhand, where the people were perplexed and disgusted by the functioning of the Government" which is on the run".

"The Government in Jharkhand is more interested in the loaves and fishes of office than in governance,"he said.

Referring to the rathyatras to be undertaken by BJP leaders L K Advani and Rajnath Singh, Mr Singhvi said it had been questioned by hiw own family that is VHP which had stated that the previous rathyatra was intended to destablise the then Government. "They have mastered the art of hypocracisy." The Congress spokesman said instead of attacking Mrs Gandhi and practicing double standards, Mr Advani and Mr Rajnath Singh should go on a pilgrimage.
