Idol recovered from pond

Barasat, Mar 29 (UNI) An age-old idol, made of black stone was unearthed from a pond at Ashokanagar in North 24 Parganas today.

Police seized the idol and asked the Archaelogical Survey of India (ASI) in the city to examine the 6.3 kg idol and to assess its antique value, police said.

No one, including the owner of the pond has claimed its ownership, police added.
