HM militant killed, one arrested, two surrender in Jammu region

Jammu, Mar 29 (UNI) The Army has gunned down a hardcore terrorist of Pakistan-based militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen and apprehended another in a encounter in Doda district, while two HM militants have surrendered before army officials in Poonch district.

According to sources, this evening, based on own information regarding the presence of a militant in a house at Navapathi in Doda, the Jawans of 11 Rashtriya Rifles launched operation and eliminated the terrorist.

In this operation, HM area commander Mohammad Gaznavi was killed while his associate Bashir Ahmed was arrested. Security forces recovered arms and ammunition from the spot.

According to a report from Poonch, two Pakistan trained ultras Javed (20) and Abdul Hameed (19) laid down their arms and ammunition before senior army officials.

In another incident, Major Protap Singh lost his one leg in a mine explosion that took place at zero line at LoC. He was admitted in the army hospital.
