High tide affects 300 families

Barrackpore, West Bengal, Mar 29 (UNI) At least 300 families were rendered homeless and huge financial losses incurred due to a high tide which damaged a 300-metres embankment along river Kalagachi in North 24 Parganas here.

Sources from Block Development Office said a high tide last evening resulted in the damage of the embankment, affecting more than 300 families.

Over, 1000 bighas of water bodies used for also incurred huge financial losses.

However, no casualty was reported from anywhere.
