Govt approves 358 projects

Jammu, Mar 28 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has approved 358 small projects that inclides 271 roads, 90 bridges costing at least Rs 1080 crores in the state, PWD minister Gulchain Singh Charak informed state Legislative Council today.

During the question hour PWD minister told tha House that 358 small and medium projects have got clearance from the government.

The works of 143 projects for Kashmir region, 94 projects for Jammu region and 32 projects for Ladakh region will start, soon.

He informed that government had approved 16 roads, 10 bridges and 4 flyovers in Srinagar, 26 roads and 9 bridges in Budgam, 20 roads, 3 bridges in Anantnag, 18 roads and 3 bridges in Pulwama, 41 roads and 9 bridges in Baramulla, 22 roads and 11 bridges in Kupwara, 13 road and 4 bridges in Kargil, 19 roads and 2 bridges in Leh to be constructed with funds from Asian Development Bank (ADB).

''In Jammu 14 roads, 5 bridges and 2 flyovers, in Kathua 19 roads and 3 bridges, in Rajouri 9 roads and 4 bridges in Poonch, 4 roads and 2 bridges, in Doda 41 roads and 18 bridges have been approved for ADB funding,'' he informed.

To complete these projects government has sanctioned Rs 631 Crore for Kashmir, Rs 413.9 crore for Jammu and Rs 34 crore for Ladakh regions. The execution of these works will be undertaken by the economic re-constriction agencies, he added.
