DPCC chief welcomes land use notification
New Delhi, Mar 29 (UNI) Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) President R B Sharma today welcomed the notification on mixed land use saying it will allow people to carry on with small business ventures they have set up to earn their livelihood.
Lives of lakhs of households would now become secure with the issuance of the notification, he said.
Mr Sharma thanked the Centre and Congress President Sonia Gandhi for bringing the notification.
It was a great gesture on the part of the central government to make amendment in Delhi's Master Plan for enabling mixed land use in residential colonies, he said.
DPCC had relentlessly pursued the mixed land use issue with the naitonal leadership and the authorities concerned, results of which had now borne fruits, he added.
Responding to concerns on the court order on sealing of shops in residential areas, the Urban Development Ministry had yesterday notified a new mixed land use policy for the national capital.
According to the seven-page notification, mixed use would be allowed on ground floor in residential plots facing streets/roads of minimum 18 metres width (13.5 metres in rehabilitation colonies and nine meters in special areas and villages).
