Day temp stays appreciably to markedly above normal in India

Pune, Mar 29 (UNI) Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in Assam and Meghalaya, sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and in some parts of coastal Saurashtra, north Chattisgarh and were above normal in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu and in some parts of south Telnagana. They were appreciably to markedly below normal in Haryana, Punjab, north Rajasthan and in some parts of Orissa, Jharkhand and Bihar. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in some parts of Orissa, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, southwest Rajasthan, northeast Rajasthan and of north madhya Maharashtra and were below normal in northwest Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Vidarbha, south interior Karnataka and in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya and Uttaranchal. They were appreciably to markedly above normal in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and were above normal in some parts of Telangana. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manaipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Chattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka and Kerla.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Orissa, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
