CBI takes PAU official into custody in human trafficking case
Ludhiana, Mar 29 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today raided the premises of an official of Punjab Agriculture University (PAU) Shiv Kumar Sharma, and took him into custody for a preliminary inquiry in a case of human trafficking.
Some documents and two cartoons of Indian Make Foreign Liquor (IMFL) were recovered from the Habowal residence of Mr Sharma, who was posted as a draughtsman at the (PAU), CBI sources here said.
It was learnt that Mr Sharma had links with high-ups in the Punjab Police circles who had helped him in illegally sending some youth of Punjab to Europe.
The accused was allegedly involved in sending some young persons to Germany, the sources said.
