C P Swarnkar appointed CMD of Syndicate Bank

New Delhi, Mar 27 (UNI) C P Swarnkar has been appointed Chairman and Managing Director of Syndicate Bank, a government notification today said.

Mr Swarnkar, who started off as lecturer of commerce, started his banking career with Punjab National Bank as probationary officer. He became the General Manager in 1998 and Executive Director of the bank in June 2005.

Mr Swarnkar has handled important portfolios like Credit, Treasury and Finance at PNB. He has also been the force behind the success of PNB's recently concluded IPO and FPO.

Mr K Raghuraman will succeed Mr Swarnkar as Executive Director of the Punjab National Bank.

Earlier Mr Raghuraman held the post of General Manager in Central Bank of India.
