"BJP lacks able leaders," AGP
Guwahati, Mar 29 (UNI) The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) today claimed the BJP ''lacked efficient and able leadership'' and hence was unable to project a Chief Ministerial candidate.
Addressing reporters here, AGP spokesperson Apurba Kumar Bhattacharjee said there was a ''dearth'' of capable leaders in the saffron party.
Questioning the role of the BJP in the development of the state, he claimed that the national party had turned a blind eye to the problems of the state when it was leading the NDA Government at the Centre.
Mr Bhattacharjee branded the Congress as ''anti-people'' and maintained that the incumbent party was aware it would be ''ousted'' in the coming Assembly polls.
He also questioned the Congress' intention behind the prompt release of compensation money for Kakopathar police firing victim's families and called it a poll gimmick.
He said, if voted to power, the AGP would work for the development of the state as it had done earlier.
