Badal forms manifesto committee

Amritsar, Mar 29 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Parkash Singh Badal today said he had formed the party's Manifesto Committee for the Punjab Assembly elections due in February next year.

Stating this while addressing a public meeting here, Mr Badal said that the SAD would soon come out with a report card on the failure of the Amarinder Singh government.

''The ruling Congress in Punjab has failed to fulfill its promises made in the last assembly elections,'' Mr Badal said, adding that the Congressmen in Punjab were deeply rooted in corruption and indulged in land grabbing on a high scale across the state.

Mr Badal welcomed the visit of Prince Charles to Punjab and appreciated the future King of England for his desire to return the Sikh artifacts which were taken by the Britishers during their rule over India.
