6 dead, 50 unconscious following chlorine gas leakage

Robertsganj, Mar 29 (UNI) At least six people were killed and over 50 fell unconscious following leakage of chlorine gas at an industrial unit in Sonebhadra district today.

District Magistrate R P Singh said the leakage occurred this morning at Kanodia Chemical Industry.

Four of the six deceased were identified as Kripashankar Gupta (40), Shiv Vachan Gupta (38), Ram Avtar Singh and Murari.

The unconscious victims had been admitted to Hindalco Hospital.

Senior district officials were keeping a close watch on the situation.
