3 cops injured over parking row

Mumbai, Mar 29 (UNI) Three policemen, attached to the Malbar Hill Police Station, received minor injuries after they were manhandled by few persons over a dispute pertaining to the parking of a car.

The incident occurred near the Priya Darshan building off Walkeshwar Road in south Mumbai today.

At around 1030 hrs, the traffic police along with local police staff visited the locality with the purpose of towing away illegally parked vehicles. However, some members of the public objected to it and engaged in a heated argument with the cops. This, in turn, led to a scuffle in which three policemen, including senior inspector Madhukar Shankhe, suffered minor injuries.

The injured cops were rushed to the Nair Hospital for treatment while twelve persons have been arrested for obstructing the government officials from discharging their duties.
