Two killed, three injured as jeep runs over them in Mumbai

Mumbai, Mar 28 (UNI) Two people were killed and three others seriously wounded when a speeding jeep ran over them while they were sleeping outside their huts on the Senapati Bapat Marg at Lower Parel in South Central Mumbai early this morning.

Police said the deceased, identified as Sikandar Rajat (41) and Babu Dantani (50), were succumbed to the injuries, while three others were stated to be in serious condition.

The injured people were admitted to the civic-run KEM Hospital at Parel. They have sustained multiple fractures and head injuries, police said adding that the driver of the jeep went absconding.
