Temple priest murdered

Shahjahanpur, Mar 28 (UNI) Unidentified assailants today killed a temple priest and grievously wounded two others under Khudaganj area here.

Police said Mahant Patre Baba (76), Baba Raghunandan Das (60) and Somwati were attacked by armed assailants -- who later fled unchallenged -- this morning.

Patre Baba succumbed to his wounds, while the two injured were rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

The Mahant was the main priest of the Lord Ram temple, police added.

A manhunt had been launched to nab the culprits.
