Sonia to pick Pondy cong. candidates

Pondicherry, Mar 28 (UNI) The Pondicherry PCC candidates selection committee has entrusted the task of choosing the party's nomineees for the May 3 and 8 assembly elections in the union territory to party president Sonia Gandhi.

PCC(I) president P.Shanmugham who heads the committee which met here this evening, later told newspersons that Ms Gandhi would identify and announce the candidates.

Chief Minister N Rangasamy, AICC General Secretary V Narayanasamy, Former Chief Minsiter V Vaithilingam, V Bhalan Neeli Mariackar and Mrs Pakkiriyammal are the other members of the committee.
