Poddar murder suspects remanded in police custody till April 6

Pune, Mar 28 (UNI) A local court here today remanded the alleged killers of Infosys product manager Vikram Poddar in police custody till April 6.

The murder suspects -- Victor Manthora and Kevin John Dias, were arrested from Rajasthan yesterday and were produced before the court today after bringing them to Pune late last evening.

Thirty one-year-old Vikram Poddar was served with strong sedative-laced food, which led to his death, when he hitched a ride from the suspects on the Pune-Mumbai expressway on March 14.

Police suspect the involvement of a third accomplice, Sohanlal alias Sunil Jain of Rajasthan, who is still absconding.

Police had zeroed down upon the two arrested after learning about their acquaintance with a bar dancer in Panvel who originally hails from Aaspur village in Rajasthan, investigating officer police inspector Bhambre told UNI.

The girl had returned to Aaspur and the police, after receiving a tip off that the duo are likely to meet the bar dancer in her village on Sunday, laid a trap and arrested both with help of the Rajasthan police.
