Court extends Salem's judicial custody till April 10
Mumbai, Mar 28 (UNI) A Special Court today extended till April 10, the judicial custody of extradited underworld don Abu Salem in murder of Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala's former secretary Ajit Diwani in 2001.
Additional Sessions Judge Abhay Thipsay, who is presiding over the case, extended Salem's judicial remand.
The prosecution is likely to file chargesheet on April 10 against Salem, who was extradited from Portugal in November last year to be tried in eight cases including the Mumbai serial blasts of March 12, 1993, which had claimed over 250 lives.
Besides, Salem is also being probed for his involvement in the murder of builder Pradeep Jain in 1995.
A TV channel yesterday reported that that Salem, during his brain mapping and lie detector tests in Bangalore last month, had said that Manisha Koirala had given him 'supari' (contract) for eliminating Diwani.
The police, however, is tight lipped on the reports.
